LONDON: An innovative project developed by young Omani inventor Aya bint Hamid al Kindi has been selected among the top 13 projects worldwide for presentation at the 67th London International Youth Science Forum (LIYSF).
The achievement highlights the global competitiveness of young Omani innovators and their growing presence on the international innovation stage.
The Sultanate of Oman’s participation in this year’s forum, under the auspices of the Research and Innovation Authority (RIA), includes 10 innovative scientific projects selected from 738 entries in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
Titled ‘Haris’, the project offers an advanced technological solution that uses artificial intelligence to combat financial crimes, particularly money laundering.
The system analyses financial data with a high degree of accuracy, identifies suspicious patterns and predicts potential risks in real time, offering advantages over conventional systems.
Al Kindi expressed pride in representing the Sultanate of Oman at the international event. She said the selection of ‘Haris’ among the world’s leading projects demonstrates the ability of Omani innovators to develop technology-driven solutions with a global impact in critical fields such as financial security and financial technology.
The forum, being held in London from July 19 to August 1, 2026, brings together leading researchers and talented students from around the world. It is regarded as one of the most prominent international platforms for innovation and research in STEM fields.
